Drivers warned of icy, foggy roads in some parts of Armenia

Some roads are closed in Armenia as of Monday morning, the Rescue Service reports.

In particular, the roads linking the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province are shut down.

Roads in the Aragatsotn towns of Yeghvard and Abovyan are partly icy.

Fog is reported in the town of Alaverdi.

According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is open to all traffic.

Drivers are strongly urged to use winter tires.
