Armenian soldiers injured in military barracks fire in moderate condition
The three Armenian servicemen injured in a military barracks fire on 19 January are in moderate condition, a spokeswoman for the Health Ministry, Hripsime Khachatryan, told Panorama.am on Tuesday.
The soldiers, who are undergoing treatment in the National Burns Center in Yerevan, have been transferred from the intensive care unit to a general ward, she said.
Fifteen Armenian servicemen were killed and three others were severely injured in the overnight fire that broke out in the barracks of an engineer and sapper company in a military unit in Azat, a village in Armenia's eastern Gegharkunik Province.
The condition of two wounded soldiers was assessed as serious.
The authorities said the fire erupted because soldiers used gasoline to fuel a woodstove.
