Top court upholds acquittal of Armenian judge

The Yerevan Court of Cassation has upheld the acquittal of judge Boris Bakhshiyan, who worked at the Court of General Jurisdiction in Armenia’s southern Syunik Province, the Armenian Association of Judges reported.

The first instance court in Syunik found the judge not guilty in a verdict delivered on September 28, 2022.

Bakhshiyan was accused of illegally arresting a defendant during a trial presided over by him. He denied any wrongdoing and called the charges politically motivated.
