Former MP Gevorg Petrosyan set free

Former Armenian opposition MP Gevorg Petrosyan was released from custody on Sunday, his lawyer Raffi Aslanyan said.

He was detained for violence against patrol officers late on Saturday, the police said.

"Gevorg Petrosyan was released from custody by the decision of the investigator. It’s pretty clear to me that as a result of the evidentiary actions, the suspicion of using violence against patrol officers has not been confirmed," the lawyer wrote on Facebook.
