Robbery suspect shot dead by police in Armenian town

Police officers shot and killed an ax-wielding man during an attempted robbery in the town of Hrazdan in Armenia’s Kotayk Province.

The incident happened in the Vanatur district early on Monday morning.

Police said in a statement patrol officers had to shoot the 45-year-old suspect to prevent his attack and neutralize the threat.

The man with a criminal record was taken to the Hrazdan Medical Center where he died later.

The preliminary probe is underway.
