Condition of Armenian soldier critically injured in Azeri attack improved, minister says

The condition of the Armenian soldier critically injured in Tuesday’s Azerbaijani attack has improved, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said on Thursday.

Armenian troops came under Azerbaijani fire while conducting engineering work near Tegh, a border village in southeastern Syunik Province, late on Tuesday afternoon. The Azeri attack left four Armenian servicemen dead and six others wounded.

“The critically wounded soldier’s condition stabilized yesterday and we hope for his smooth recovery,” the minister told reporters.

The other wounded servicemen have also shown an improvement in their health, Avanesyan said. “I believe everything is going to be fine,” she added.

Avanesyan said she visited the wounded troops at a Yerevan hospital to wish them a speedy recovery.
