Azerbaijani weightlifters left Armenia

The Azerbaijani weightlifting team that arrived in Armenia to compete at the European Championships has left the country after Friday’s incident.

Azerbaijani media reports suggest that the team has already travelled to Georgia.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Olympic Committee announced the team’s withdrawal from the championships after the Azerbaijani flag was set on fire during the opening ceremony on Friday evening.
