SRC thwarts gold smuggling into Armenia

Cosmos officers of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) have foiled an attempted gold smuggling into the country.

In a statement on Friday, the SRC said a one-kilogram gold bar was found in the carry-on baggage of a Russian man who arrived at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport from Tbilisi.

The gold bar has been confiscated.

The SRC says it has forwarded the smuggling case to the Investigative Committee.
