Batumi Municipality Cup-2023: Armenia's Erik Hakobyan sole leader in Open A

The Batumi Municipality Cup-2023 international chess tournament is being held in Batumi, Georgia from July 2 to 10.

43 chess players from Armenia are participating in the tournament.

After 4 rounds, the sole leader in Open A is Erik Hakobyan, who scored 3.5 points. Erik on Wednesday ended his game in a draw with the tournament's highest ranked player GM Giga Quparadze, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

Sargis Manukyan and Hayk Yeritsyan, who scored 3 points, are also among the leaders in the A group.

In Open B among the leaders is Edgar Hayrapetyan, who scored 3.5 points.

10-year-old Gor Dabaghyan, who scored 3.5 points, is among the leaders in Open C.

Armenia also has a leader, Mark Gevorgyan, in the U12 Open tournament. He won all 4 games.
