Artsakh's indigenous Armenians are victim of 'political games', official says

The 120,000 indigenous Armenians of Artsakh are a victim of “political games” and geopolitical interests of so-called democratic countries, claims Artak Beglaryan, an advisor to Artsakh’s state minister.

In a social media post on Friday, he underscored Azerbaijan announced humanitarian aid to Ukraine while continuing the seven-month blockade of the Lachin Corridor, Artsakh’s sole land link with Armenia.

Azerbaijan further tightened the blockade on June 15, banning all relief supplies to Artsakh carried out in limited amounts by Russian peacekeepers and the ICRC.

“The Azerbaijani dictatorial regime is thus trying to "cleanse" from sins and buy an indulgence from the West. At the same time, Baku is making another demarche against Russia at the right time,” Beglaryan wrote on Telegram.

“The whole world has been making noise about the suspension of the grain deal for a few days now, ignoring the fact that fascist Azerbaijan is driving 120,000 people to starvation by blocking supplies of food and other essential goods to Artsakh for 36 days.

“The indigenous people of Artsakh are a victim of geopolitical interests and political games involving supposedly democratic countries,” he stated.
