Armenia's Sargis Stepanyan crowned world para-armwrestling champion

Sargis Stepanyan, a retired Armenian army major, has captured a gold medal in the 25th World Para-Armwrestling Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

He won the world title in the 80 kg left hand category, the Armenian Disabled Sports Federation reported on Wednesday.

Stepanyan was injured in a mine explosion, losing both his legs and the right arm while retrieving his fallen fellow serviceman from a minefield under Azerbaijani fire in 2014.
