Artsakh opposition nominates state minister for president

The three opposition factions in the Artsakh parliament have nominated new Artsakh State Minister Samvel Shahramanyan to become the country's next president, MP Metakse Hakobyan, secretary of the Justice faction, told Panorama.am on Wednesday.

The deputy said the decision was made following a meeting with the state minister on Tuesday.

The ruling Free Motherland-UCA faction also backs his candidacy, Hakobyan added.

The president's post remained vacant after Arayik Harutyunyan stepped down on September 1.
