Legendary gymnast Albert Azaryan to be buried at Komitas Pantheon

The wake ceremony for legendary Soviet Armenian gymnast Albert Azaryan will be held in Yerevan’s Opera Theater on Friday.

His final farewell will take place at St. Hovhannes Karapet Church in the Kond district on Saturday.

Albert Azaryan will be buried at the Komitas Pantheon in Yerevan.

He passed away on September 5 at the age of 94.

Dubbed “King of the Rings”, Azaryan was a three-time Olympic champion, four-time world and two-time European champion.
