Russia has sent humanitarian aid to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) through the Akna (Agdam)-Askeran road, TASS reported on Saturday, citing the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society.
"At the initiative of the Russian government, within the framework of cooperation between the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society and the Russian Red Cross, a truck loaded with food and other relief supplies has been sent to Karabakh’s Armenian population," the report said.
The humanitarian cargo crossed the Russian-Azerbaijani border at around 1:30 p.m. Moscow time.
Azerbaijan blocked access to Armenian and French humanitarian convoys attempting to reach Nagorno-Karabakh in July and August.
