Azeri troops killed Artsakh civilian, says former state minister

Azerbaijani forces have killed a civilian in the Artsakh village of Haterk, Artsakh’s former State Minister Artak Beglaryan said on Thursday, citing preliminary reports.

“Azerbaijanis not only didn’t cease the fire yesterday at 1 p.m., shooting and moving in various directions for a few hours, but also today continued violations,” Beglaryan said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Today morning they killed preliminarily a civilian in the occupied Haterk village, now shooting/moving to Stepanakert,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, Artsakh’s authorities said the Azerbaijan military had violated the new Russian-brokered ceasefire, firing at Stepanakert. They said gunshots could be heard in the city center.

The ceasefire agreement took effect at 1 p.m. local time on Wednesday, 24 hours after Baku launched a large-scale military offensive against Artsakh, killing at least 200 people and injuring more than 400.
