Opposition MP detained at anti-government protests in Yerevan

Police officers detained opposition MP Tadevos Avetisyan during anti-government protests in Yerevan on Monday morning, lawyer Arsen Babayan said.

“In case of a failure to substantiate that he was arrested based on reasonable suspicion, the officers who arrested him and those who gave them the order must face criminal liability,” he wrote on Facebook.

Protests demanding Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation resumed in the Armenian capital early on Monday morning.
