A court in Yerevan has extended opposition activist Narek Malyan’s pre-trial detention by three months.
Presiding judge Susanna Gzogyan on Wednesday approved the prosecutor’s request to extend his detention strongly opposed by the activist’s lawyers, Ruben Melikyan and Tigran Atanesyan.
The next court hearing has been scheduled for November 24.
Malyan, founder of the VETO movement, was arrested on 20 September for "inciting hatred and intolerance" on Facebook.
