Three Armenian chess players qualify for World Rapid and Blitz Championships

The qualification tournaments for the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships have come to an end.

In the sum of two tournaments, GM Robert Hovhannisyan, GM Tigran Petrosian and GM Mamikon Gharibyan of Armenia got the right to participate in the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships to be held from December 25 to 31, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

Top 3 finishers in the rapid tournament:

1st place: GM Tigran Harutyunyan
2nd place: GM Robert Hovhannisyan
3rd place: GM Tigran Petrosian

Top 3 finishers in the blitz tournament:

1st place: GM Robert Hovhannisyan
2nd place: GM Tigran Petrosian
3rd place: GM Mamikon Gharibyan
