Serzh Sargsyan comments on Artsakh dissolution decree

Armenia’s third President Serzh Sargsyan has confirmed that he held meetings with Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he expressed the hope that the Artsakh leader would find a solution to the benefit of the people.

"I believe that in any case Samvel Shahramanyan will find a solution that won’t disgrace him for all time and will exclude the fact that one person, even if he is the country’s president, can dissolve a republic. Such a thing has never happened and cannot happen," he said, referring to Shahramanyan’s September 28 decree to dissolve Artsakh’s state institutions.
