Opposition MP slams prosecution of fallen soldiers' parents

MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction on Tuesday denounced the Armenian authorities for prosecuting fallen soldiers’ parents.

“Regrettably, criminal prosecutions and violence targeting parents of fallen heroes have become commonplace in the country in recent years,” he told reporters outside the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction holding a hearing in the case against Garik Galeyan, whose son Mkhitar was killed in the 2020 Artsakh war.

"Immorality is a benchmark set by the current government and, unfortunately, we are constantly witnessing such court hearings," the MP added.
