Authorities probing explosion in Yerevan district

Armenia’s law-enforcement authorities are probing the explosion in a Yerevan district that destroyed and damaged several houses.

Two people were pulled alive from the rubble of a house that collapsed following the blast in Yerevan’s Erebuni district on Monday morning.

The search for other victims who may be trapped under the rubble is ongoing. 

The Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation into a violation of fire safety rules which caused severe consequences.

A preliminary probe is underway.
