MP Gevorg Papoyan steps down

Ruling Civil Contract faction MP Gevorg Papoyan has resigned his seat in the Armenian parliament. 

The deputy submitted his resignation to the parliament speaker on Monday.

He is expected to be appointed Armenia's new economy minister.

Vahan Kerobyan stepped down as economy minister on February 14, one day before being charged as part of a corruption investigation in the Ministry of Economy regarding the alleged rigging of a procurement tender.
