New cyclone set to hit Armenia

A powerful cyclone has delivered heavy rain and snow across Armenia.

Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik and Syunik Provinces were blanketed in thick layers of snow last night, the meteorological service said.

The weather is expected to clear up on Wednesday afternoon.

A new Mediterranean cyclone is set to hit the country on Thursday, bringing rain and snow to most parts of Armenia.
