CoE chief enters Armenian Foreign Ministry amid protest in support of political prisoners

Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, arrived at the Armenian Foreign Ministry on Monday morning amid protests demanding the release of political prisoners in Armenia.

The EU official’s car parked right outside the entrance to the ministry, thus the protesters had no opportunity to talk to her and share their concerns over the current situation in Armenia.

Burić entered the Foreign Ministry building amid the chants of “Freedom, freedom!”.
