Scholz: Chances for Yerevan-Baku conflict settlement higher than ever

The chances for a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan are higher than ever before, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said following talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Friday.

“Of course, we first of all discussed the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and agree that this conflict should be settled peacefully,” TASS quoted Scholz as saying at a joint news conference with Aliyev.

“Its chances are higher than ever,” the German leader added.
