Armenian Diocese of Australia and New Zealand supports Tavush movement

Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian, Primate of the Armenian Church Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, the diocesan council and clergy express their support to the Tavush for the Homeland spiritual and national movement opposing the Armenian’s government's territorial concessions to Azerbaijan.

“The unilateral land concessions of the local government, which created a nationwide uprising, are reprehensible,” the diocese said in a statement on Saturday.

“We join our voice to His Holiness the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Supreme Spiritual Council and many diocesan leaders, and we demand that the Armenian authorities reconsider their step and put an end to the concession policy, stand up for Armenia's integrity and national rights.

“The goal of the movement led by His Eminence Archbishop Bagrat Galstanian is to enforce the demands of justice and rights. We support that goal and will stand firm for its implementation. We believe that thanks to the people's solidarity and demand, in Armenia and in the Diaspora, it will be possible to give the Armenian people fair rights,” reads the statement.
