Armenian singer's son denies plotting seizure of power

Hrachya Ghevondyan, the son of popular Armenian singer Hayk Ghevondyan (better known as Spitaktsi Hayko), has been charged with plotting a “seizure of power” in Armenia.

His lawyer Erik Aleksanyan says that Ghevondyan has rejected the charges.

The defense lawyers reported his arrest earlier on Wednesday. 

The young man has been actively involved in protests against the Armenian government’s unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan.
