Traffic paralyzed in central Yerevan amid protest

A car protest against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has paralyzed traffic along numerous streets adjacent to Republic Square outside the Armenian government headquarters in central Yerevan since Thursday morning.

A large number of people have joined the protest led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.

The protest comes amid a weekly cabinet meeting chaired by Pashinyan.

Despite a massive police deployment in the area, the streets in city center remain blocked.
