Tensions mount in central Yerevan amid protest

Police have deployed large forces outside the Armenian government building in central Yerevan where a protest demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is taking place.

The protesters honked the horns of their cars and police officers began to use brute force to detain them.

Heeding a call from Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, protesters drove their cars to Republic Square facing the government building before the start of today's regular cabinet meeting.
