Parents of fallen Armenian soldier welcome baby boy

The parents of Gevorg Javakhyan, an Armenian soldier killed in the 2020 Artsakh war, have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.

The baby has been named Gevorg after his hero brother.

Their sister, Seda, who gave birth to a baby boy named Gevorg a few days ago, shared the news on social media on Thursday.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment day and night for four years,” she wrote.

Gevorg Javakhyan was seriously injured near the village of Karmir Shuka in Artsakh's Martuni region on October 24 and died in the hospital on October 28.
