Israel summons Armenian envoy after its recognition of Palestine

Israel's foreign ministry summoned Armenia's ambassador to Israel after the country recognized the State of Palestine, AFP reported.

"Following Armenia's recognition of a Palestinian state, the foreign ministry summoned the Armenian ambassador in Israel for a severe reprimand," it said in a statement shortly after Armenia's announcement.

Armenia announced that its recognition of Palestine was against "violence towards civilian populations" during the war in Gaza.
