Protester injured by police outside Armenian parliament undergoes 3rd surgery

A protester, who was injured by police forces outside the Armenian parliament on June 12, has undergone a third surgery, his wife reveals.

The man, Yesayi Karamyan, sustained a severe hand injury after riot police used stun grenades to disperse demonstrators demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation.

“Yesayi underwent a third surgery today. The doctors say the operation was a success," his wife Naira Sahakyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

“The dressing will be removed in five days. We hope that everything will be alright and no new surgeries will be necessary," she added, thanking the attending doctors.
