GM Vladimir Akopian winds U.S. Senior Championship

Armenian GM Vladimir Akopian has won the 2024 U.S. Senior Championship.

He claimed the title of U.S. Senior Champion after victory against IM Douglas Root.

The Armenian chess player scored 7 points out of 9, without losing any game, the Chess Federation reported on Friday.

"We congratulate Vladimir Akopian, wishing him new victories," it added.
