House explosion in Armenian village kills one, injures two

A house exploded and collapsed in Voskehask, a village in Armenia’s Shirak Province, early on Thursday, leaving one killed and two wounded, the Rescue Service reported.

Two fire and rescue crews responded to a report of an explosion and a building collapse just after 6:16am.

Rescuers pulled the body of the victim, a 12-year-old child, from the rubble.

Two others were hospitalized in moderate condition.

The cause of the blast was not immediately known.
