Armed man arrested in central Yerevan

A man armed with a handgun was arrested in central Yerevan on August 9.

The 40-year-old man was tracked down at the intersection of Amiryan and Zakyan Streets late on Monday and was arrested on suspicion of possessing weapons and drugs, the police reported.

A Makarov pistol and crystalline-like substance were found in his possession during the search.

The case materials were forwarded to the Investigative Department.
