Robert Kocharyan to skip re-consecration of Etchmiadzin cathedral

Second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan will not attend the blessing of the Holy Chrism (Muron) on Saturday and the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral in Etchmiadzin on Sunday, his spokesman reported.

“At the same time, I would like to emphasize that the second president has always shown strong respect for the Armenian Apostolic Church, its clergymen and the faithful,” Bagrat Mikoyan said.

Third President Serzh Sargsyan also announced his decision to skip the ceremonies.
