Yerevan mayor says his 'good looks' could make him a target for corruption rumors

Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan denied allegations of corrupt practices involving him as defamation. 

“I guess my good looks make me a target for corruption rumors," he told reporters on Tuesday.

"Criminal cases have even been initiated over false claims," the mayor added.

At the same time, he denied any conflicts with his fellow members from the ruling Civil Contract party and warned against attempts to "drive a wedge" between him and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
