Extreme hypocrisy: Greta Thunberg slams COP29 in Azerbaijan

Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg on Thursday attended a conference titled “The Impact of Azerbaijan’s Aggression on Human Rights and Environmental Protection,” a side event of COP29 organized independently in Armenia.

The activist again criticized the UN's decision to allow Azerbaijan, an authoritarian country, to host its annual climate summit as “extreme hypocrisy”, saying the event “is whitewashing Azerbaijan’s crimes".

Thunberg also denounced the global silence on Azerbaijan's egregious human rights violations.
