Armenian speaker's spox denies media reports he threatened MP

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan’s spokesperson has denied media reports alleging that he threatened and mocked pro-government lawmaker Hovik Aghazaryan.

“Hraparak.am news website (henceforth Storyteller.am) disseminated more fake news about the parliament speaker, claiming that Alen Simonyan allegedly threatened, taunted and pressured Hovik Aghazaryan,” the spokesman, Movses Harutyunyan, wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

“Most importantly, the reputable website labelled it as breaking news. I agree that it is indeed exclusive, but only in the context of lies and fake news,” he added.
