Yerevan City Council member resigns

Areg Gevorgyan has stepped down as a member of the Yerevan City Council representing the ruling Civil Contract faction.

At a meeting of the municipal council on Tuesday, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan named Ashot Sargsyan as his replacement, citing a decision of the Central Electoral Commission on 11 December.

"The first session of the 4th convocation of the Yerevan City Council is scheduled to take place on 11 February 2025, at 10 a.m.," the mayor announced.
