Primary elections underway in Armenia's Parakar

Primary elections commenced in Armenia’s enlarged Parakar community on Saturday to run through Monday.

The ruling Civil Contract party confirmed six candidates for the vacant post of community leader earlier in Janaury.

The candidate securing the most votes in the primaries will be appointed as the caretaker Parakar head by the Armenian prime minister.

Civil Contract held primaries for the first time in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri in December last year.
