Turkey, Azerbaijan achieving their goals through Pashinyan, MP says

Turkey and Azerbaijan seek to dismantle the institutions that ensure Armenian statehood and the resilience of the Armenian people, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan claims.

“The attacks on Armenian identity, its history, culture, the Armenian Apostolic Church, historical memory and heritage, by the Pashinyan regime, which serves their interests, are part of this campaign,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.

“Their ultimate goal is to sever the roots of Armenians and destroy everything that, even in the absence of statehood, has enabled us to survive and resist,” Abrahamyan stressed.

According to the MP, Turkey and Azerbaijan achieved their desired change in Armenia in 2018, systematically undermining its government institutions.

“They have blocked any change of government over the years, yet what they could not achieve directly is now being accomplished through Pashinyan,” Abrahamyan stated. “The denial of the Armenian Genocide, regardless of its nuances or the context in which it is framed, is part of this strategy. The longer public resistance is delayed, the deeper our internal and external enemies will infiltrate the Armenian world.”
