Armenia army chief reaffirms commitment to peace agenda

The situation along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan remains relatively stable, Lieutenant-General Edward Asryan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, said on Tuesday.

“The border situation is marked by relative stability,” he told reporters at Yerevan’s Yerablur Military Pantheon on the 33rd anniversary of the Armenian army.

The army chief also addressed ongoing concerns regarding the presence of Azerbaijani troops on Armenia’s sovereign territory.

"We are fulfilling our tasks and adhering to the path of peace under the political leadership, including the border delimitation and demarcation. At the same time, the Armenian military continues to modernize and strengthen its capabilities," he emphasized.
