Ex-envoy accuses Pashinyan of turning Armenia into ‘martyr nation’

Former Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia party, has dismissed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s claims that “there is an international consensus that Armenia is a martyr nation.”

"It was Nikol Pashinyan himself who turned us into a nation of martyrs by rejecting the peace plan on 27 September 2020," Marukyan wrote on Facebook, referring to his remarks at a discussion hosted by the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center late on Tuesday.

"Now, he is going to turn us into a martyr nation again by refusing to return to the format established on November 9, 2020," he added.
