Rescue Service warns drivers of icy roads in Armenia

The Rescue Service has warned drivers about road closures and icy conditions in Armenia.

In particular, the roads connecting the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Lake Kari and Amberd Fortress in Aragatsotn Province are currently inaccessible.

The Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev and Noravan-Shinuhayr-Tatev roads are difficult for all vehicles to pass.

Drivers are urged to watch out for black ice on the Jujevan-Voskepar, Gegharot-Jamshlu, Norashen-Alagyaz highways and the Dilijan serpentines.

According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Georgia is open to all traffic.
