Drivers warned about icy roads in Syunik

The Rescue Service has warned drivers about road closures and icy conditions in Armenia.

In particular, the roads connecting the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Lake Kari and Amberd Fortress in Aragatsotn Province are currently inaccessible.

Drivers are urged to watch out for black ice in the highlands of Syunik Province and strongly recommended to use winter tires.

According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Georgia is closed to all traffic.
