Armenian GM leader of Aeroflot Open 2025

Armenian GM Aram Hakobyan is the leader of the Aeroflot Open 2025 international chess tournament taking place in Moscow, Russia, from 28 February to 7 March.

After 5 rounds, Aram has scored 4.5 points and shares the 1st-2nd places with American GM Hans Moke Niemann, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

In the 6th round, Aram and Hans will play against each other.

GM Haik Martirosyan, GM Manuel Petrosyan, GM Mamikon Gharibyan and FM Vahe Sukiasyan have scored 3 points.

Vahe played against GMs in all 5 games, defeating Pavel Ponkratov and drawing with Andrey Yesipenko, Alexander Grischuk, Vadim Zvjaginsev and Manuel Petrosyan.

IM Arsen Davtyan and FM Rudolf Pashikyan have 2.5 points.
