MP reacts to reports of ex-Artsakh army chief confirming role in war with Azerbaijan
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has described the ongoing show trials of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan as a “horror movie".
"Under immense pressure and psychological abuse, Armenian defendants are being forced to testify in a process that lacks any legal foundation," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
Abrahamyan reacted to Azerbaijani media reports that former Artsakh army commander Levon Mnatsakanyan confirmed his participation in the 2020 war with Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijani media reports suggest that General Levon Mnatsakanyan has acknowledged his role in the war against Azerbaijan. Denying any involvement in certain operations, he stated that he would have participated in them if necessary,” the Pativ Unem faction MP said.
"Knowing Mnatsakanyan well, I can read between the lines of his statements and, in many cases, understand his emotions. This is the result of Azerbaijan’s ‘justice’ and impunity, which, unfortunately, never prompted a strong reaction from the international community," Abrahamyan emphasized.
