Styopa Mkrtchyan called up to Armenian national team for Georgia clashes

Croatian club Osijek has announced that central defender Styopa Mkrtchyan has been called up to the Armenian national team for the upcoming UEFA Nations League play-off matches against Georgia, scheduled for March 20 and 23, Sportaran.com reports.

Mkrtchyan is the first confirmed call-up under new head coach John van 't Schip, who has yet to unveil the full squad.

The 22-year-old defender previously struggled with health issues but has recently regained form and earned more playing time. This season, he has made nine appearances for Osijek. However, he missed Armenia's last six matches due to injury.
