MP hails former Artsakh army deputy chief's steadfastness amid sham Azeri trial
David Manukyan, the former deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, who is unlawfully detained in Azerbaijan, testified at the ongoing show trial in Baku on Thursday.
According to Azerbaijani media reports, Manukyan confirmed that he held a senior military post in Armenia and fought against the Azerbaijani army, Pativ Unem faction MP Tigran Abrahamyan reported.
"Various aspects of General David Manukyan's life, particularly his military service, left no doubt that he would act honorably in any situation," the MP wrote on Facebook.
"It is difficult to find the right words to fully describe Manukyan's combat journey and his unwavering determination, especially considering that he is currently imprisoned in Baku, where any statement could be used against him.
"His conduct and testimony during the sham trial at least reflect his steadfastness and unwavering principles. Freedom to David Manukyan and all Armenians imprisoned in Azerbaijan!" Abrahamyan said.
